THE BEGINNINGS

First steps as Creator and Collector

CardFest was born from the vision of Omar Aamoum, a content creator and collector. It all started as a child with the first Serie A stickers, later evolving into TCGs—first with Pokémon and then with Magic and Yu-Gi-Oh!, games he played with great passion.

In tandem, Omar launched his career as a Creator, reaching nearly 2 million followers across all his platforms. This career linked him ever closer to the world of football, giving him the chance to work with major organizations and personalities. His lifelong passion for stickers eventually led him to dive deep into the world of sports cards.

CONCRETE STEPS

The journey to America and the birth of Sportycards

Sports cards were the spark that reignited his passion for collecting. This led to an intense phase of research, studying the culture and history of the hobby. Omar decided to spend nearly two months in the USA to study the phenomenon firsthand and embrace its culture.

He actively studied Card Shops and major American events, including “The National,” one of the world’s most significant shows in the industry. Upon returning to Italy, he founded Sportycards, now one of the most prominent sports card communities in the country.

The birth of CardFest and CULT on DAZN

After numerous trips across Asia, America, and Europe to uncover the secrets of international Card Shows, Omar joined CULT, a DAZN show dedicated to collecting, appearing alongside legendary champions like Gianluigi Buffon. This brings us to today: the birth of CardFest!

Italy needs to be embraced by the true Card Show culture. Often, major Italian events offer cards but fail to focus on them, leaving them in the shadow of video games, cosplay, or endless lines for influencer photos. CardFest was created to put cards front and center and to make these events as frequent as possible. The next chapter of this story will be written together with you.
